The Trading & Securities Financing’s desk oversees the daily implementation of Portfolio Manager’s strategies. It is a key part in the recognition of Candriam and Investment Management’s business unit in their fields of expertise.
The Equity Trader is a financial markets specialist. His / Her role is to support daily implementation of Portfolio Manager’s strategies.
The trader contributes to pre-trades and post trades analysis and is also in charge of innovation and automation.
Directly reporting to the Deputy Global Head of Trading and Securities Financing and Head of Equity Trading, the core tasks can be described as follows :
The focus will be on the following strategies : Fundamental Europe Equity, Global Thematic Equity, Emerging Markets Equity, Quantitative Equity, Alternative Equity (Equity Market Neutral, Risk Arbitrage, Index Arbitrage) and Multi-Asset strategies.
1/ Daily trading :
- Daily trading of a broad range of equity products, Derivatives and FX.
- Daily interaction with Portfolio Managers in order to provide Best Execution.
- Back-up of other traders within the team.
2/ Pre-Trade and Post-Trade analysis :
- Provide state of the art pre-trade analysis in order to maximize Portfolio Managers orders.
- Produce post-trade reports and Transaction Cost Analysis for various Candriam stakeholders including institutional mandates’ portfolio managers.
3/ Innovation and Automation :
- Contribute to the development of innovative trading protocols within the order and execution management system including trading platforms and algorithms.
- Increase the level of automation for some specific trading processes.
- Strong financial market knowledge, focus on equity products, derivatives and FX.
- Trading and/or fund management background.
- Familiar with technology, order management tools.
- Strong ability to cooperate, work as a team player.
- Innate capacity for communication.
- Rigorous and proactive.
- Resistant to stress.
- English and French fluent.
- Master's Degree in Finance.
- Min 2 years of professional experience in a similar role with an investment bank, a broker or an asset manager.
