Mission

Within Candriam, the ESG Quantitative Analytics and Research team is a Front Office team that copes with various transversal projects linked to ESG. Its main objective is to provide innovative, state-of-the-art ESG analysis frameworks and market leading ESG investment solutions.

We are hiring an ESG Quantitative Analyst who will support and enhance the ESG universe that incorporates all the internal ESG analysis. This person will act as the liaison between Investment Engineering team, ESG analysts and Investment Managers.

Responsabilities

Based in Brussels, he/she will contribute to the following missions:

1. ESG universe production, support and enhancements:

Produce the internal ESG scorings/ratings and eligibilities for portfolios.
Performs controls on ESG universe updates and coordination within the whole ESG team.
Analyze variations in the eligibility decisions of issuers and provide clear explanations.
Enhance of the ESG universe and participate in the new target architecture around ESG data.
Link with Managers, IT and ESG referential data team.
2. Enhance internal ESG models to be more in line with evolving client’s demand and regulations:

Develop ESG algorithm solution in Python.
Improve models and documentation linked to controversial activities
Simulate and implement new models linked to clients demands, regulations and labels.
3. Build tools for the team and other departments:

In particular specific tools via Power BI.

Profile

Master's degree in fields such as Quantitative Finance, Data Analysis, Mathematics, Environmental Science or Engineering.

Minimum 2 years' experience in similar role, within the Financial Services sector.
Strong interest in ESG.

Skills :
Good communication skills.
Strong IT knowledge, programming skills and working knowledge in Python are required.
Solid understanding of financial maths and instruments.
Proficient in PowerBI and Excel
Azure synapse and Factset are a plus.
Experience with ESG data providers
Pro-active and stress resistant
Analytical, synthetical mind and strong eye for details
Team player.
Ability to explain analysis and/or models to non-technical audience.

English fluent. French or Dutch would be a plus.
