Mission

As an Equity Engineer, you will play a key role in enhancing Candriam’s equity investment processes by bridging fundamental and quantitative research.

You will proactively design and implement actionable solutions to improve both return generation and risk management across equity portfolios. Your work will include researching, backtesting, and developing quantitative screening models to assist fundamental strategies, as well as identifying and integrating innovative data sources to strengthen investment insights. Collaborating closely with both fundamental and quantitative equity teams, you will provide analytical input, develop tools, and deliver recommendations that help portfolio managers optimize performance and manage risk effectively.

As you progress in the role, you will have the opportunity to co-manage our suite of enhanced-indexing strategies, contributing directly to their continued development and performance.

Responsabilities

• Proactively identify and implement actionable solutions to enhance equity investment processes, focusing on both return optimization and risk management.

• Conduct in-depth research, back testing, and development of quantitative screening models to strengthen fundamental equity strategies.

• Explore, evaluate, and integrate new alternative and traditional data sources to strengthen both fundamental and quantitative equity approaches.

• Provide strategic guidance and analytical insights to portfolio managers on portfolio construction and risk management practices.

• Assume management of the enhanced-indexing strategies at a later stage.

Profile

• Master's degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• CFA charter holder or strong willingness to pursue the designation.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management, with a clear focus on equity investments.
• Demonstrated passion for financial markets, with a strong interest in equity analysis and investment strategies.
• Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly analytical and innovative, with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Structured, disciplined, and pragmatic approach to daily work, with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent working knowledge of Bloomberg and/or FactSet.
• Familiarity with AI tools and applications is an advantage.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are considered an asset.
